Zamfara Social Intervention Programme (Z-SIP)
The Zamfara Social Intervention Programme (Z-SIP)is the post-tertiary engagement initiative for Zamfara between 18 and 35. It is a paid volunteering programme for some duration. The graduates will undertake their primary tasks in identified public services within their proximate communities. All Z-SIP are entitled to computing devices that will contain information necessary for their specific engagement, as well as information for their continuous training and development. In 2019, the Zamfara State Government engaged 3800 Z-SIP. In 2020, the Zamfara State Government is enlisting 100,000 more.
Application is open to every indigine of Zamfara state- the Z-SIP Volunteer Corps. Z-SIP will provide teaching, instructional, and advisory solutions in 4 key areas.
Aim and Objectives
According to Mr. Idris, he said Z-SIP was one of the initiatives of the present administration in the state to enhance the lives of the teeming youths.
“Under this programme, youths will be trained in various skills aimed at providing job opportunities for them to become self-reliant in future”, he said.
He strengthen that, the committee has Usman Dankalili as Chairman while Kabiru Mai-palace, member representing Gusau/Tsafe Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, will serve as Secretary.
Zamfara State is made up of 14 Local Government Area, with 147 political wards. About Twenty youths will be recruited in each of the 147 political wards. In those local government areas where there are 11 wards, the committee will recruit 220 youths each. The committee will also employed 10 supervisors of the programme in each of the 14 local government areas of the state,” Mr Idris said.
