National Student Financial Aid Scheme Scholarships Programme 2017-2018 for all South African Citizens who wish to study in public university/TVET college in South Africa. The NSFAS Application form is obtainable via application portal. The National Student Financial Aid Scheme Scholarships is for South African Citizens only if you are not a South African Citizen please don’t apply for the scheme because you will be disqualified for the programme.

National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is public entity of South African Republic established accordance to the National Student Financial Aid Scheme Act (Act 56 of 1999).

The Financial Aid Scheme enables any student in South Africa to apply for a loan or bursary from NSFAS

  • Receive loan and bursary applications from students
  • Grant loans and bursaries if the criteria are met after ascertaining that funds are available
  • Consider and assess the applications in light of the criteria for the granting of loans and bursaries determined by NSFAS

Requirements for National Student Financial Aid Scheme Scholarships Programme 2017-2018

To apply for National Student Financial Aid Scheme Scholarships you must meet up with the following requirements:

  1. A signed consent form
  2. South African identity document/card or, an unabridged birth certificate
  3. IDs of parents and/or guardian (or death certificate where applicable
  4. IDs of each person living with you in your home
  5. Pay advice/letter of employment/pension advice (not older than three months)
  6. If you have a disability, please download the Disability Annexure A and fill it in
  7. Provide your personal working phone number and email address

Those who are not eligible to apply for National Student Financial Aid Scheme Scholarships 2017-2018

  • Candidates who have already applied and have an application reference number
  • Candidates who already have NSFAS funding for 2017
  • None South African citizen

Postgraduates should note that the NSFAS scheme is for Postgraduates students who plan to do the following postgraduate qualification may apply:

  • B Tech – Architecture/Architectural Technology
  • B Tech – Biokinetics/Biomedical Technology/Biotechnology
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Education
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting
  • LLB

How to apply for National Student Financial Aid Scheme Scholarships 2017-2018

  • Apply via www.my.nsfas.org.za
  • Create a username and password which you will use login to myNSFAS account
  • Click on apply, you will be redirected to the online 2018 application form
  • Attach all necessary documents as required
  • Finally click on the Submit button to submit the application
